Undercover Heroes is a South African nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting, uplifting, and empowering single parents. Founded and led by single parents, we understand the unique challenges they face – often silently and without recognition.

Undercover Heroes is a social impact program dedicated to supporting single parents. Founded in 2019 by Nadia Boezak, the organization was born from her firsthand experience of the challenges faced by single-parent households during her 11-year journey as a single mother (before remarrying in 2021).
This passion was ignited by a divine calling to connect with and uplift other single parents. It all began with a special event on 3 August 2019, themed around superheroes. The goal was clear: to make single parents feel seen, valued, and empowered. This vision led to the official registration of Undercover Heroes as an NPO on 18 September 2019.

In 2020, as the world faced isolation due to COVID-19, the organization adapted by establishing a WhatsApp support group. When it became safe to gather again, Undercover Heroes resumed its mission, hosting various motivational and wellness events to inspire and support single parents.

What We Do:
- Provide Support & Resources: From basic essentials to emotional encouragement, we walk alongside single parents through life’s challenges.
- Empower Through Education & Training: We assist by creating opportunities for skills development to help single parents achieve financial independence.
- Celebrate Resilience: Our signature events, like the Single Parent Valedictory, recognize and affirm the strength, sacrifices, and accomplishments of single parents.
- Support Youth: We assist children of single parents with school-related needs, including formal wear for matric dances, helping them feel included and valued.
- Foster Community & Awareness: Through storytelling (our quarterly newsletter) and published works (Blooming Hope), we raise awareness about the realities of single parenting and break the stigma surrounding it.

We focus on practical impact through projects that address the real needs of single-parent families:
- Empowerment & Skills Development: We partner with various training programs for career-building workshops and courses.
- Youth Support: We assist the children of single parents with essentials for major milestones, such as outfitting matriculants for their dances – helping them celebrate with dignity and pride.
- Community Upliftment: Through partnerships with organizations like Victory Outreach Cape Town Men’s Recovery Home, we engage in property maintenance and local improvement efforts, turning our support outward to strengthen entire communities.
- Recognition & Encouragement: We host an annual Single Parent Valedictory, celebrating the resilience, hard work, and achievements of single parents throughout the year.
- Storytelling & Advocacy: Through our projects – like the Blooming Hope book, our quarterly newsletter and our Social media platforms – we share the stories of single parents, raising awareness and challenging the stigma often attached to single-parent households.
Behind every project is our team of dedicated volunteers – all single parents themselves – who understand the struggle and lead with empathy, passion, and purpose.
Together, we are rewriting the narrative for single parents – one act of support at a time.

Support Our Single Parent Valedictory Celebration
We are proud to celebrate the unwavering strength and sacrifices of single parents of matriculants through our upcoming Valedictory Celebration – a heartfelt event to honour those who’ve walked the often unseen road of raising children on their own.
This event will take place on 29 November 2025 and we’re inviting you to partner with us as we create a moment of recognition, joy, and encouragement for these everyday heroes.
We are looking for donations in the form of:
- Financial contributions (to help cover catering, venue, gifts, and the guest speaker)
- Services such as décor and photography
Your support will help us say, “We see you, we honour you, and we celebrate your journey.”
